Delicious Disney Dole Whip

I am a huge fan of recipes that take less than five ingredients, so this recipe fit neatly into my “perfect recipe for kids” category.  I was a little skeptical that the consistency would turn out less like ice-cream and more like a smoothie, but I was wrong.  The consistency was thick, the flavor was good and my kids were sure this was ice-cream.  Which is great for me, because its super healthy.

HOW TO GET THE KIDS INVOLVED

The kids loved using the blender-which they always do- and they had a blast squeezing the lemon and counting the strawberries into the blender.  I told my son to squeeze the lemon like the Hulk and that gave him a little extra incentive. 🙂

EDUCATE WHILE YOU BAKE

A super simple way to always incorporate educating is baking is just having the kids count ingredients.  In this recipe I had both my son and my daughter add the strawberries one at a time and count them as they did.  If you want to go the extra mile you could even do a little basic addition or subtraction.  Add two strawberries, then add two more, how many are in the blender?  Great way to teach basic math concepts.

Can’t wait for you to enjoy this recipe on a hot day, here’s another frozen recipe you really have to try.
