Growing up I was not a huge fan of pasta. Spaghetti was a common meal in my house and I quickly began to dislike it. It wasn’t till I got a little older that I realized it wasn’t the spaghetti I disliked but it was tomato sauce. I actually have nothing against tomatoes I like ketchup and the occasional tomato on my burger I even don’t mind it on my pizza but I cant stomach red spaghetti sauce. So I learned to just replace all red sauce with a creamy alfredo. Now pasta is one of my favorite foods.
So if your toddler doesn’t like alfredo sauce just replace it with tomato sauce. If they don’t like chicken replace it with beef or pork or just leave meat out. I put broccoli in mine but any vegetable will work. This is a great recipe that you can adjust to your toddlers needs/preferences!
Chicken Alfredo Stuffed Shells
Ingredients
- 1 Box Jumbo Shells
- 2 Jars Alfredo Sauce
- 2 Cups Cubed Chicken-Cooked
- 2 Cups Steamed Broccoli I like to cut mine into small chunks
- 1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Start a large pot to boil and boil shells to just under cooked
In a medium sized bowl combine the cooked chicken, steamed broccoli, half of a jar of alfredo sauce and 1/2 cup of the mozzarella
Get out a 13x9 pan, roughly the size of a cake pan, and pour the second half of the jar of alreado sauce into the pan. It should make a shallow layer.
Once your shells are just under cooked stuff them with your chicken mixture and place them in your pan.
Once all your mixture is used and your pan is full take your second jar of alredo sauce and pour it evenly over all your stuffed shells. Then sprinkle the rest of your cheese on top.
Bake covered, I use tin foil, for 35 min
Enjoy!
