If you are a huge fan of good illustrations that come with an entertaining plot line, you will love these books.  All of Audrey Wood’s books are winners for both of my toddlers. Several of her books are bestsellers!  The plot-lines are engaging, quirky and unique and the illustrations tell a story of their own.  Every time we read Audrey Wood’s books we notice new elements in the illustrations that we didn’t notice before.  With that, and a plot line that always reels you in, you can’t get any better.

I have found the vocabulary is big enough for my four-year-old but the books are also entertaining enough for my two-year-old.  We read these books over and over again and they never get old.

Napping House A bed that just keeps getting piled on and a cricket that wakes up everyone in the house.

The Full Moon at the Napping House A house that just can’t fall asleep, until someone soothes them all.

King Bidgood’s in the Bathtub A king who refuses to get out of the bathtub, no matter how hard everyone tries

The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear A mouse who finally finds a way to hide a big, ripe, strawberry from the big, hungry bear

Quick as A Cricket A little boy who wants to be a lot of very different things
